When was the last time you read a "classic" CanLit novel that did have a canoe but didn't have a passenger in the canoe dying? Think about it.Katherine Hajerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08270232675026751342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-620256112055351848.post-6052676970500130742012-12-27T20:33:51.770-05:002012-12-27T20:33:51.770-05:00I absolutely adore the cover of Alice Hearts Welsh...I absolutely adore the cover of Alice Hearts Welsh Zombies! I hate to admit that I'm shallow enough to buy a book based solely on that but, damn, that's a fine cover!! I also want to read The Night Circus, but not because of the cover - because you and so many other people say how wonderful it is.

So happy you wrote about "non-canoe CanLit." *thinking desperately if there's a canoe in my manuscript...*Cathy Olliffe-Websterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12729578896443750402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-620256112055351848.post-86737242774625568592012-12-27T20:31:20.834-05:002012-12-27T20:31:20.834-05:00Now THAT is high praise, Mr. Wiswell. The background is so outlandish, yet he never flinches about it and draws such incredible linguistic power from the meld between law and Jewish culture. You're absolutely right about voice making that novel. One of the few works where, in the middle, I just decided to flip back to the beginning and start over so it wouldn't end too soon.John Wiswellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07416044628686736927noreply@blogger.com
